FOR SUCCESSFUL

TESTING

EMC tests are complex test procedures and must be conducted with

a wide variety of DUTs under very di erent power supply conditions.

Coupling and decoupling devices are needed for many di erent types

of lines. O en the generated signals and injected currents must be

veri ed as precisely as possible. The corresponding measurement,

control, monitoring, and registering devices must be integrated for

this purpose.

What it all boils dow n to is that a large number of accessories

are needed because they play a signiﬁ cant role in test execu-

tion.



The unipolar EM TEST arti cial network of the AN  series

simulates the impedance of the cabling in the HF/VHF range, in

particular for testing disturbance voltage in on-board power sup-

plies, e.g. in the automotive and aerospace industries as well as

for the military. The AN N is available for currents up to

 A.

The coupling network superimposes a voltage pulse onto a DC

supply line. A .  resistor in the pulse circuit limits the maxi-

mum pulse current without voltage drop in the DC supply path.

The RDS  is an externally controlled DC voltage source with

an integrated current sink for generating variations in on-board

power supply. As an additional voltage source, the RDS N

supplements the automobile system if the standard requires fur-

ther voltage waves for the test.

The load resistor simulates the impedance of parallel consumers

in the same load circuit. The low inductance resistors in the

RS Box are designed for use in  V power supply voltages.
